When I graduated in 1998, I set off to see the world and also gain experience as a veterinarian. I worked for 2 years in England and also travelled extensively while abroad. But South Africa remains my home and when I returned, I settled into private practise for 15 years.
Due to the challenging demands and stress of everyday private practise life and also trying to raise three daughters , I decided to take a sabbatical. This time at home gave me a lot of perspective as to where I am going and what I want to achieve in life, i.e. to make a difference. I was not sure then where I could make a difference, and when the opportunity arose to help out at the SPCA Assisi, I realized how devine our Creator is to send us the right opportunities at the right time.
And so my journey began with the SPCA Assisi.
