Gavin began his retail career fresh out of high school as a Visual Merchandiser for the Edgars group in 1996. This eventually led to working aboard luxury 5-star cruise ships travelling around the globe where he quickly rose through the retail ranks before making a transfer to onboard entertainment. He rose to the rank of Senior Assistant Cruise Director within 5 years and was offered to be a part of the inauguration setup voyage of Princess Cruises’ newest flag ship, Ruby Princess.
After almost a decade-long career at sea, Gavin returned to SA where he used his experience to run/manage several businesses, including the Arminel hotel in the Hogsback mountains, starting up Scoopy’s Buy ‘n Sell Store in East London, and managing Body Fuel Express in Johannesburg before moving to Jeffrey’s Bay 4 months ago.
