Meet Joy van Hemert, the bubbly heartbeat of our fundraising team! As our Tin Collection Organiser, Joy spreads joy and collects funds with her infectious smile. She's a master of making deals and isn't shy to ask for discounts or freebies - she's not easily deterred by a 'no'! Joy's husband Rob is her rock, tirelessly visiting shops around Jeffreys Bay to empty our tins, meticulously counting coins, and keeping track of every cent. Together, they're a fundraising force to be reckoned with.

I hereby acknowledge that:
- I am 18 years of age or older (if you are between 16-18 years of age and would like to volunteer please email info@spcaassissi.com. No under 16s allowed!)
- I am a voluntary worker of the Humansdorp SPCA
- I am expected to adhere to the same disciplinary code as full-time employees of the Humansdorp SPCA;
- I have read the code of conduct and agree to adhere to the terms and conditions;
- I may be asked to accompany an SPCA staff member in a vehicle on official SPCA duties/drive an SPCA vehicle;
- I am responsible for my own medical expenses in the case of an injury sustained whilst fulfilling my voluntary duties at the SPCA.
I further indemnify the Humansdorp SPCA, its directors, office bearers, staff and benefactors against all claims of whatsoever nature by whomsoever which might arise in connection with any incident, accident, injury or any other cause whilst in the voluntary employ of the Humansdorp SPCA. I am prepared to obtain a SAPs clearance certificate at SPCA's cost if I am requested to handle money.
