Since early childhood Marisa’s love for animals was prevalent, deeply rooted in love and compassion never turning a blind eye to help or intervene in the well-being of all furry paws.
Sucked into the corporate world and life’s ordeal it was only after the death of her husband in 2016 that big life changing opportunities surfaced on the horizon.
Marisa became involved with various animal rescue organisations, in 2019 amidst COVID she started volunteering at Rustenburg SPCA mainly cleaning kennels, this selfless act in humility would spark the lifelong passion to ignite in something very special.
In 2021 she resigned her corporate position after 20 years, taking a step in faith as the Manager of Rustenburg SPCA. This also marked her journey in become an Inspector. It was prevalent from the onset that her passion for animals would have a great impact in the community.
Needless to say her tenacity, commitment together with perseverance paid off and she was honoured as an qualified SPCA inspector on 19 January 2023
